Ashley got her start in the industry right after graduating from the Old Dominion University where she purchased her first home which is now her investment property. Ashley has a unique career since she holds a full time career with the federal government for over 15 years. After a few years as a solo multi-million dollar producing agent, she has stepped out to open her own franchise brokerage where she can expand in developing agents to be successful with innovative training and opportunities. She is currently the Associate Broker for her brokerage EXIT Capital Realty.

The career switch to become a REALTOR® was not a far reach for me. I love helping people and want to use my life experiences as a teacher, homeowner, and investor to open many doors for others! As an agent, I don’t just help the folks who sign the paperwork. The help extends to the whole family and community at large. That’s another person or family who owns where they live. Our family’s first home was purchased as a rent-to-own transaction. My sister-in-law Pat told us of a lady who needed to sell her property and then introduced us to Harry, a wonderful agent/mortgage broker, who helped us from beginning to end. That was over 20 years ago! He helped us realize what was possible when we couldn’t even imagine it.

I began my real estate career in 2021 after retiring from a rewarding career in manufacturing to pursue a long-standing passion for homes and homeownership. Growing up, one of my favorite Sunday traditions was touring new construction homes and model houses with my family. I always loved walking through new homes, imagining the possibilities each space could hold. However, I never seriously considered becoming a real estate agent until later in life when I purchased my first home. My agent showed incredible patience and care throughout the process, and when I shared my interest in the field, she encouraged me to pursue it. I took her advice to heart — and I did the work. Today, I am passionate about educating and guiding first-time homebuyers, helping them navigate the process with confidence and clarity so they, too, can achieve the dream of homeownership.
